TAP’s Dental Health Initiative (DHI) offers clients financial assistance for dental care, including cleaning, orthodontia, surgery, and dentures. Services are based on a sliding scale to determine the applicant’s share of costs.
The following are the minimum requirements in order to start a DHI savings plan:
- Be 18 years or older
- Ability to prove a form of regular income. Each client must be gainfully employed with at least two months of pay stubs or claim disability or social security as a form of income with proper proof. Income must be below the poverty guidelines.
- Be a resident of one of the following localities:
- Alleghany County
- Botetourt County
- City of Lexington
- City of Roanoke
- Roanoke County
- City of Salem
Applicants will not be considered if they are currently in transitional housing. Potential applicants and clients are still encouraged to complete an application regardless of income and situation; they will be put on our waiting list until they are able to secure proof of income, but they will not be reviewed until we receive proper documentation.
