Reaching Independence through Saving and Education

A powerful match-savings program for eligible individuals!

Total Action for Progress (TAP) is offering a powerful match-savings program to help eligible individuals save toward major financial goals. Your financial independence is within reach with TAP’s $8 to $1 match.

Program Highlights

  • RISE is a $8:$1 match savings program: for every $1 you save, TAP will match it with $8
  • Save up to $500 of your own earned income or tax refund and get up to $4,000 in matched funds
  • Participants have up to 24 months to complete the program
  • TAP provides financial education and asset-specific training

Financial Goals May Include

  • Home ownership
  • Postsecondary education (for self or children)
  • Starting a small business
  • Purchasing reliable transportation
  • General self-sufficiency and stability

Who is Eligible?

Participants Must:

  • Have a household income at or below 200% of the federal poverty level, and have a child under age 18 in your care
  • Be at least 18 years old
  • Be employed (full-time, part-time, or self-employed)
  • Be a Virginia resident and live in TAP’s service area
  • Be a U.S. citizen or legal immigrant
