Covington Clothing Closet

The Covington Clothing Closet, also known as the Second Chances Clothing Closet, is a volunteer-run resource in Covington, Virginia that provides free clothes to any community member in need.

The number of items that may be taken per visit will vary, depending on stock. Household and misc. items are also occasionally available—please call to inquire about our available items.

Find out more about the Clothing Closet on our blog.

The Clothing Closet has been relocated to the warehouse at the back of the TAP building at 118 S Lexington Ave., Covington, VA 24426. Please enter through the warehouse door to gain access to the closet.

The Clothing Closet is open every Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Due to COVID-19, only one visitor is allowed at a time. Shopping sessions will be limited to 30 minutes. Masks must be worn upon entry.

Visitors can also find out about other TAP programs while visiting the closet. We look forward to serving you!

For those interested in contributing items, please call to arrange drop off. The clothing closet is particularly in need of: children’s clothing of all sizes; men’s clothing sizes small and medium; and furniture and housewares such as sheets, blankets and towels. .

We are incredibly grateful to the numerous community partners and volunteers who have been an integral part of making this happen. Special thanks to Ingevity and its IngeviCares team for their contributions.
