DEFINITION AND PURPOSE:

Functions in a clerical/bookkeeping role to provide support to the finance department staff.

 

ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS:

Supervised by:            Assistant Finance Director/Compliance Director

Supervises:                 No one

Coordinates with:       Finance staff.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Auditing of TAP invoices for payment to vendors.
  • Data entry into MIP accounting software.
  • Prepare bank deposits.
  • Provides help and financial information as needed for auditors and program monitors.
  • Assist finance staff with special projects.
  • Filing, copying, and other duties as assigned.

 

ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Must be organized, detail-oriented, and self-motivated.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to learn and work with financial software packages.

 

TRAINING, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  •  must have a minimum of 1 year experience in bookkeeping or equivalent course work in accounting.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must pass drug screening.  Some positions require complete background screenings including: criminal, sex offender and child protective services and health screenings.
  • Physical activity of this position:  use of fingers for – picking, pinching, typing or otherwise working primarily with fingers rather than with the whole hand as in handling, talking and hearing.
  • Physical requirements of this position:  sedentary work – exerting up to 10 lbs of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body.  Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time.
  • Visual acuity requirements  requires close visual acuity to perform an activity such as preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation of machines (including inspection); using measurement devices; and/or assembly or fabrication parts at distances close to the eyes.
  • This worker is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions.
  • This position requires on-site work.
  • TAP participates in the Virginia DMV Driver Alert Program.  Employees who operate a TAP vehicle or their personal vehicle to conduct TAP business may be subject to driver record monitoring through the Virginia DMV Driver Alert Program.
